Working in the field is hard work. For the past five I have been going into school delivering safer sex and HIV 101 workshops. I always wanted to know if I made a difference, if they really took what I said and act on it. A few weeks ago i come home to this up date!

"I’d like to shout out Kareem and Asia for their work at a High School last week. Because of their awesome presentation, 5 young people showed up at the Love Heals office at 4:55pm Thursday afternoon to be tested for HIV! The young people explained that they saw a presentation earlier that day and decided they would get tested together, right after school. Unfortunately, they didn’t understand that they should call the numbers inside the resource card to find a testing site. Instead, they went to the address on the card (our office). Erica and I were happy to stay an extra 20-30 minutes to find a testing site close by so that they could be tested that day. We congratulated them on taking charge of their health. Thank you Kareem, Asia, and EVERYONE. Please know that your words have power to propel people to IMMEDIATE ACTION!"

With all that's been going on under ground on the train is the only true break I get from the social media world. And even when I do I take the time to write a blog post or the narrative to my documentary NYC: Welcome to the epicenter which takes a more personal look into the crazy high rates of HIV in NYC.

My life has really picked up and I have picked up. See so many things has happened to make me just stop questioning why me. That why me was never a "Lord why must I deal with all this" but a who am I to deserve all in which comes my way.

If the first step into breaking addiction is admitting that they have a problem and need help, the first step to true success has to be admitting that you are great and because of your good works and dedication you are favored. Everything that I have done so far has not been Kareem Youngblood but God. You see it's the works that you do for him that will last, and because of those works you shall have life and have it abundantly.

I have giving my self to anyone who asked for some almost. When I left the university of buffalo I wanted few things, the job with love heals, a step team, and to work on my line and getting me out there. Now just under a month from my 5th year anniversary as the founder of Bloodline Denim I truly know that "being fly is never hard if its in your blood." I still got my job, I still got a step team, and I still got my line.

The best thing I can say to whoever gives a fuck. Is fuck the world. Be your self you are good enough to be whatever you want. But you have to cultivate your talents keep on watch for weeds and know that it's yours.

I could of been dreaming not really too sure. What i do know is I am one Happy, Proud and blessed young man. I Have my share of dark days as we all do, yet for some reason my Sunny days are always beyond my wildest dreams. Believe it or not But this is History in the making, I am just some Lil Black boy from Brooklyn who faced many of the horrible statistics of my community. My mom was a drug addict and left me with my Grand father for a while, Shes clean and poping now for over 10 years! my Father? please I can sit next to that man on the train and not even know I did. I wish i could say I was an Honor student but I cant I can say I was an Ravishing student.

I stopped questioning why, because it will never be answered and just accepted the fact that there is a light in side of my that's so bright no one can miss it. I no longer want to be a designer because I am one. Do you know how amazing it feels for top Koch people to just look at you and know what you do, even when you are yet to be world renowned? It feels amazing.
